creative direction + web design + web development + content management system + ecommerce + search engine optimisation + application development + advertising
JDM Concept (An automotive parts distributor & reseller specialising in the Japanese Domestic Market) approached Evodence in early 2009 in need of a new website to engage its clientele online. The goals were to increase sales & customer loyalty by providing an aesthetically pleasing online shopping experience.
The Site Map was formed with a focus on meeting these goals with each page then individually designed. The design concept required an optimum balance between visuals & usability for the visitor’s pleasure & convenience.
A custom CMS has been built allowing the client to manage the entire site effortlessly, developed with: XHTML, CSS, PHP, Flash, JavaScript, & MooTools, compatible with IE 6-7-8, Firefox, Opera, Safari, & Chrome.
Tailor development throughout the site includes:
a) Vehicle Search – The ability to view parts only compatible with specific vehicle makes / models.
b) Shopping Cart with Automatic Shipping Calculation – Orders based on parts quantity, weight, shipping location & provider.
c) Loyalty System – A points based reward system allowing repeat customers discounts on orders.
d) Inventory XML import / export – Allows admin to make mass product updates through a single spreadsheet file.
e) eBay Pages, automatic HTML generation – A custom designed & developed template allowing admin to quickly post parts for sale onto eBay.
f) Dynamic Image – Automatic creation of the entire parts inventory individually in PNG form: EVO dynamic image
g) Other inclusions: Shopping Wish list, User Registration – Login, User Details & Order History, Blog, Email Marketing, Scalable CSS Background, & SEO.
The greatest challenges of the project were to integrate various site features seamlessly into multiple systems for efficiency. Constant quality control was a high priority throughout the project requiring experimentation & persistence for the project’s success:
